View over Tavira

We had a wonderful 2 weeks in the villa. It is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and ideal for families with children. From pool and beach equipment to the kitchen, Norman and Tanya have thought of everything to make the holiday really comfortable. The restaurants in Tavira were very good, although the growth in the area’s popularity made it necessary to book well in advance. We hope to return in the near future.
Charlotte, Jon & family, Glasgow and London - July 2017

Thank you so much for all the time and effort and planning and support you put into making our last-minute holiday happen. We had the most magical time, and didn't want to come back home! Your villa is beautifully appointed, spacious, a perfect home-from-home. And ... wait for it ... I can now drive on the wrong side of the road - thanks so much for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone!
Thank you for being kind, helpful, supportive, practical, encouraging. All muchly appreciated.
Kay and Robert, West Lothian - September 2016

Fantastic villa. We've visited Algarve for last 15 years and this is the best equipped villa we've stayed in. We love Tavira and thought we'd found good restaurants, but Norm's recommendations were brilliant! Canto Azul in Santa Luzia was great, as was Tri Doce. Weather was fantastic, hot and sunny, really sorry to be going home! Norm was extremely helpful and we are thankful we were able to rent his villa. We'll definitely be back! Popped over to Spain, but Portugal wins hands down. Isla Tavira beach is out of this world, as is Cabanas.
Carolyn and John, Gwent - September 2015

Just never long enough! Thank you once again - we've had a fabulous time.
The Clarkes, Leeds - August 2015

Another wonderful stay in a fantastic villa in a lovely part of the Algarve. Scorching sun (32 degrees C on our last day by far the coolest), refreshing pool, fully-equipped villa. Lovely food and drink served by welcoming locals. Wish we could stay longer. Missing item: a pair of scales to make us stop eating so much of the fresh food :-)
John B and family/friends, Cambs. and London - July 2015

Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing holiday in your beautiful villa. We had lovely meals out, fun days exploring, and lazy days on the terrace and by the pool. A perfect holiday for Ryan and Alan, who have just finished their A level and GCSE exams. We even saw flamingos in Tavira on our last day! Don't want to go home to chilly England now.
Kinch family, Dorset - July 2015

After all these years we have made it at last ... feel sure we will be back! Totally relaxing and an interesting area - with superb weather to go with it! Villa so well equipped, thank you for sharing your holiday home with us all.
R & D Taylor, Derby - October 2014

Thank you, Tanya and Norman, for another fantastic two weeks here in Casa Na Colina. We need to go home and diet with all the amazing food we've eaten. The clams on the Ilha de Culatra were amazing. Jorge and Lia have fed us wonderful dishes and we can't resist the figs and ice cream. Francesca has enjoyed running around Tavira every morning. Tim's been doing a bit of "twitching" and has spotted quite a few interesting birds. Steph and El came out for 5 days but have enjoyed relaxing. It's all been great! X
The Clarkes, Leeds - August 2014

Another wonderful visit. The home-from-home facilities make it easy to relax here. Plenty of barbecues and chilling on the terrace!! We had a great day out at Zoomarine too, where I got to swim with dolphins :-) Thank you both again!
The Taylors, Telford - July 2014

Wonderfully spacious villa with excellent pool less than 50 metres away. Villa is equipped with everything you could want and the air conditioning helps keep you cool and sleep. Tavira is a pleasant town and an excellent base for exploring the truly fantastic beaches all within a few miles. The villa is in a quiet location a mile from the town centre, but within easy reach of Faro airport. Thoroughly recommended.
The Bishop family, Royston - July 2014

Casa Na Colina just gets better and better! We've had a wonderful holiday yet again and loved every minute here. Thank you so much Tanya and Norman.
The Clarkes, Leeds - August 2012

Our stay here has exceeded our expectations and we've appreciated all the facilities and comfort the villa provided. This part of the Algarve is new to us and we would certainly visit the area again for excellent scenery and seafood. The proximity to Spain is an extra bonus!
Staffords and Fultons, Cheam and Bookham - August 2012

Fantastic house equipped with everything anyone could need! We have enjoyed plenty of BBQs on the terrace (along with a few beers and wine :-) ). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you Tanya and Norm!
Penny and Andy Taylor, Telford - June 2012

Fantastic house/villa, beautiful area, Alison and I had a great week, thank you for sharing your lovely house with us. You should be proud of what you achieved with your house. So thank you again and hopefully see this house in the future again.
Ronald and Alison, Cork, Ireland - September 2011

A beautiful house - we had a great time here. Will be back.
Joe and Colette, Cork, Ireland - September 2011

Another fantastic two weeks in 'Sunny Tavira'. We had a couple of cloudy days - one when we went to have lunch will Gill and Ian. It was lovely to see them and we could hardly move after the food at 'Tridoce' (Santa Luzia) - it was memorable and also good to meet Lynn. Must admit we haven't done much sightseeing but have loved meeting up with everyone from previous visits! We all still love this place - thank you.
The Clarke family, Leeds - August 2011

There is everything that you could possibly need (and more!) in the house, tastefully decorated (love the seahorses!) - just perfect. We tried a variety of beaches, walked into Tavira, ate lots of nice food - would definitely recommend Jorge and Lia's - we all loved it there - went 3 times! Thanks Tanya and Norm - you've a place to be proud of! Oh - almost forgot - Sam and Lu loved the pool in the evenings and the internet access is a definite bonus
The Porter family, Derby - July 2011

Fantastic holiday, best equipped villa we have been in so far, thank you! Not having to bring towels was a Godsend, the kids loved having internet access too. Best restaurant was O Ciclista (card in book), worst was the Mexican but, on the whole all the restaurants were fab and lots going on in Tavira town.
The Jamieson family, Glasgow - July 2011

Sad that our holiday is over. Just back from Santa Luzia after a great meal at Caso Do Polvo. Never realised octopus could taste so good. Weather has been perfect. Enjoyed walks and bird spotting in the hills near Cachopo and on the coast at Benagil. Hope you find a use for the pestle and mortar (useful for making alioli) and little milk jug, Tanya!.
Cindy and Adrian, Bath - May 2011

Lovely comfortable home & absolutely fab to have the pool. Really loved Tavira - we shall be back some year! Thank you.
Titchener family, Devon - September 2010

We arrived tired and pale and leave after nearly 2 weeks tanned & refreshed, replete with good food, local wine and an abundance of sunshine. This villa is without doubt the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Parents enjoyed chilling & snoozing on the terrace, while the teenagers looked up their friends on “Facebook” & made new friends around the pool! Thank you so much for the use of this fabulous place.
Paul & Mary Lindsay, London - August 2010

Another fantastic holiday - great to see familiar places & faces again. We spent a lovely evening with Gill & Ian and are pleased to see Ian looking much fitter again. What more can we say - we just love it here! Thank you for everything.
Clarke family, Leeds - August 2010

We’ve had an eventful week! Our stay here has been great though - lots of sun, relaxation & lots of laughter. We leave with happy memories & a good tan! Thank you Norman & Tanya for everything. Your house is fantastic!!!
Carol and Mark Love, Buckinghamshire - August 2010

Dear Tanya and Norman,

We did indeed have a perfect holiday in your wonderful house. How well equipped and organized! The children enjoyed the swimming pool in the mornings and evenings and we went to the Tavira Sailing Club for the regatta during the day. We then crossed over to the Island to be able to follow the competition. We also spent a day in Sevilla as we did two years ago, such a beautiful city.

Again, many thanks for your house and having booked the car for us! It was perfect!
Arnout and Sofie, Belgium

This is our second stay and it’s even better this time! Great food, lovely neighbours, lively town - we want to live here. In Tavira lots of good places to eat, too many to mention. Out of town - Colibri restaurant at Moncarapacho (card in the book), "steak on the stone" is fabulous! Hope y’all enjoy your stay as much as we have.

A big "thank you" to Tanya and Norman for the birthday pressie for Mick, what a thoughtful, sweet touch. xxxxxx
Zoë, Carlisle

Thank you so much for making us so welcome and for sorting out the car hire. This is our third holiday in your gorgeous house in Tavira. We feel so relaxed as soon as we arrive, it is a real home from home having everything you could possibly need, including bikes and beach towels! Having the broadband internet was a fantastic extra this year whilst my daughter awaited news on her University place. Casa Na Colina is in an ideal position for exploring on foot, bike or by car, with many interesting places to visit. We love the beach at Barril and Vela 2, our favourite restaurant where you can eat as much fish as you possibly can for a set price.

Many thanks to Gill and Ian for organising such a great welcome pack once again and for being so helpful.

Looking forward to a return visit next year!
Best Wishes
Janet and Tim, Leeds

We came to Portugal for a wedding and so have spent a lot of time with family and friends. The house was perfect for our needs. We have no criticisms at all, never mind constructive ones! Thank you for the loan of your lovely house, for all the little things that made a huge difference (e.g. the picnic box, the barbecue, the beach towels). We will be back!!
Sarah, Newtownards, Northern Ireland

Not as hot as the last time we visited so we were able to do lots more exploring. Aided by the Cicerone book of walks in the Algarve we trekked through the Mata Nacional de Conçeição on one day, where we spotted bee-eaters and azure winged magpies. We also enjoyed two walks in the Serra de Caldeirão mountain range. There are many walks signposted that centre around Cuixas Baixas, Feiteira, and Mealha, so you are unlikely to lose your way. We recommend a visit to Cachopo where the local restaurant serves hearty meals. There is also a very pleasant coastal walk that starts at Benagil going eastwards. The scenery is spectacular - very ’Algarve’! Our friends Jane and Jon are great at identifying the different species of birds and we have left a list of our 60 birds that we spotted (see black folder). Being spring, everywhere we walked was abundant with wild flowers. Definitely a good time of year to visit.
